Types of Film Switch Materials

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) at 60°C has a melting point of 0.175~0.5°C. It has a smooth appearance and is stable against acids, alkalis, and salts at normal temperatures. It possesses good wear resistance, self-extinguishing properties when flammable, and provides sound absorption and shock resistance. Additionally, it has excellent electrical insulation properties. However, its thermal stability is relatively poor. It is commonly used for low-cost signs and panels.

Polycarbonate PC-60~120℃, 0.175~1.0, has a high light transmittance, low water absorption, good dimensional stability, and superior bending, tensile, and compressive strength. It also exhibits excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, electrical insulation, and resistance to atmospheric aging. However, it has poor chemical resistance and fatigue resistance, making it prone to stress cracking. The output interface terminals are typically made of carbon material and printed, without aprotective coating. Over time, they may oxidize and develop a coating that eventually leads to circuit breakage, resulting in a shortened lifespan. The thickness of the film should be determined based on the size of the panel and the buttons. A thicker material provides greater tactile feedback, but the response may be slower. The base material for manufacturing circuits should be polyester (polyphthalamide) film (abbreviated as PET). It has excellent insulation and heat resistance, as well as high mechanical strength, transparency, and airtightness. It is particularly resistant to bending and has high elasticity, making it an ideal material for manufacturing film switch circuits.

The color difference is not greater than level two;
No creases or peeling allowed;
Transparent windows should be transparent and clean, with uniform color. There should be no scratches, pinholes, or impurities.
