In leather processing, micronized wax is mainly used as a functional finishing additive, imparting core properties to leather such as scratch resistance, abrasion resistance, anti-blocking, smooth hand feel, and controlled gloss.
Scratch and abrasion resistance: Micronized wax particles are dispersed in the finishing agent and concentrate on the surface after film formation, reducing the friction coefficient. This causes external forces to result in slipping rather than scratching, thereby significantly improving abrasion resistance and service life.
Anti-blocking and anti-soiling: Reduces adhesion between leather surfaces while forming a hydrophobic barrier, enhancing stain resistance.
Gloss control: High-melting-point wax enhances gloss and heat resistance; specific particle size distribution or polyamide wax can achieve matte or semi-matte effects.
